Sensei John Bryan JBK Founder and Chief Instructor
With over 36 years of training in Shotokan, Wado Ryu and Goju Ryu karate and teaching students from the age of 5 to adults in their 60's for over 20 years, sensei John Bryan has trained and graded 1000's of students across the globe and still does to this present day.
Master Bryan, has been practicing the art of karate since 1984 from the age of 11, he has trained under... And with some of the highest ranked Masters in the world and is one of the United Kingdoms leading karate instructors, he has trained both police and security personnel and is well respected within the Martial arts community's worldwide.
John is a multiple National Kata & Kumite Champion and was the undefeated Kumite champion for over four years, he has also produced numerous National and World Champions and holds a Level 6 tournament referee diploma and is a fully accredited karate examiner through the B.M.A.B.A (The British Martial Arts & Boxing Association).
John takes a lot of pride in his teaching of the JBK instructors and all JBK students, he has his own unique style of training that is innovative, simplistic, and most of all, effective. The key to John's teaching lies within the details of each drill and technique that can only be taught through many years of experience.
Sensei Jane Bryan Co-Founder & Chief Assistant
Instructor
Sensei Jane Bryan has trained under master Bryan for over 12 years
she is a multi kata and kumite champion and also a world gold medal
champion in kata.
Jane is also a full-time fitness coach and believes that everyone
can achieve their goals, whether to get fit, lose weight or learn
how to defend yourself, she believes that with the right help and
guidance we can achieve anything in life and is passionate about
helping others to do so.
Jane currently teaches at 5 different JBK Dojo's in Derby and
devotes her time to teaching students, conducting seminars, and
growing the JBK school as a full-time professional karate
instructor.
Sensei Mark Springall Assistant
Instructor
Mark has been training as a JBK member for just over seven years
and is now close to reaching his second Dan Black Belt, he is a
valued member of the JBK family and leads by example in every class
he attends, he has both the patience and dedication to helping
others achieve their goals and is never too busy to lend a helping
hand to his students, he is also a multi JBK Kata and kumite gold
medal champion.
Mark helps to teach in many of the JBK Dojo's in Derby and is a
trusted and well-respected member of the JBK coaching staff.
Senpai Dawn Sammons Class Assistant
Dawn has been one of the longest serving JBK members for just
over seven years and is now a second Dan Black Belt, she is a
valued member of the JBK family and leads by example in every class
she attends, she has both the patience and dedication to helping
others achieve their goals and is never too busy to lend a helping
hand in class, she is also a JBK Team Kata gold medal
champion.
Dawn helps the instructors in many of the JBK Dojo's in Derby
and is a trusted and well-respected member of the JBK coaching
staff.
Senpai Daz Frost Class Assistant
Daz is a valued member of the JBK family, he is 1st Dan
Black Belt and has both the patience and dedication to help others
achieve their goals and is never to busy to lend a helping hand in
class, he is also a JBK kumite gold medal
champion.
Daz helps the instructors in many of the JBK Dojo's in Derby
and is a trusted and well respected member of the JBK coaching
staff.
